We, at Dhancot, are exporters and importers of cotton bales based in Kolkata, India. Our exports commenced in the year 2000 when the Govt. of India allowed private companies to export cotton from the country. Our main markets include Bangladesh, China, Pakistan, Indonesia and Vietnam. With the help of our pan India connect of cotton suppliers as well as the timely shipment of quality cotton, we have successfully created a niche in the international markets. Guided by a clear set of values and built on a strong foundation of quality and commitment, Dhancot strives to continue its operations in its existing markets as well as expand to newer ones.

OUR TIMELINE

1947
Pre-Independent (1947) India

Mr. Hanuman Prasadji Dhandhania started a
small business of cotton waste at Bandhaghat,
a suburb near Kolkata.

1950
1950’s

His sons Mr. Banarsilal & Mr. Madanlal Dhandhania
expanded the cotton waste business under the
name Banarsilal Madanlal, taking it to new heights.

1970
1970’s

Mr. Prem Chand Dhandhania, son of Mr. Madanlal
Dhandhania started raw cotton trading business in
the name of Cotton Emporium.

1990
Early 1990’s

Mr. Praveen Chand Dhandhania, elder son of
Mr. Prem Chand Dhandhania joined the family
business. Ginning operations started in North
India in the name of Lincoln Industries Ltd.

1990
Late 1990’s

Acquired a Spinning mill in Kolkata, Sri Annapurna
Cotton mills & Industries Ltd.

2000
2000

Mr. Pravesh Dhandhania, younger son of
Mr. Prem Chand Dhandhania started cotton
exports in the name of Dhancot Fibres Pvt. Ltd.

2006
2006

Our own in-house HVI cotton testing lab was
established.

2012
2012

Mr. Praveen Chand Dhandhania launched “Keya”,
an apparel manufacturing brand.

2015
2015

Our 8000 sq ft. corporate office was established to
house all group companies under one roof.
